SOCIAL MEDIA INTELLIGENCE GATHERING & HR

Picture a conversation:
“I was on Jane’s Facebook profile, and according to her
status, she plans on suing our company for being fired.
Meanwhile, LinkedIn shows she just ‘checked in’ at a
new job with Acme Inc. How is that possible when she
posts gossip and inappropriate comments about her coworkers
and employer that she gets a new job that fast?
Did the people hiring her not do any due diligence?”
Pause a moment and think about it. Many terms used today,
such as Facebook, LinkedIn, checked in and Google,
among so many others, were not known 15 years ago. Yet
today, they form the basis of daily conversations and impact
every aspect of life.
Anyone born before 1990 can still remember a time without
things like cell phones, the Internet, Google, apps, geo-location or
the digital voice of Siri. The “Internet Revolution” has changed the
way people conduct every facet of their lives. Social media was unheard
of 15 years ago; now, these platforms permeate every aspect
