A
Transformational
Year
With this issue, we’re already halfway through our
2017 issues of HR Professional. I hope you’ve
been enjoying the digital platform this year; as we
watch our online stats continuously grow, we know
that readers are adapting and embracing this year’s changes. As
of June, the April issue of HR Professional has had upwards of
23,000 views.
If your colleagues and HR peers do not yet know that they
can access HR Professional for free online, please share this in-formation
with them and send them the link to this issue.
They can also read through the magazine’s digital archives on
www.hrprofessionalnow.ca. Making sure that our audience knows
that the magazine is freely accessible and available has been our
number one obstacle and priority.
During the annual planning call with HR Professional’s
Editorial Advisory Board, Cheryl Fullerton suggested we write
an article about HR’s role in the landscape of mergers and ac-quisitions
(M&A). As the M&A of yesterday are not the M&A
of today, HR’s role has grown significantly in order to manage
talent through transformational organization changes. This focus
on transformational M&A is particularly interesting, and comes
with myriad challenges for HR professionals. Read the article that
Melissa Campeau wrote, starting on page 18.
On another note, have you ever considered writing an article for
HR Professional? The article submission process, guidelines and
editorial calendar are available to access at hrprofessionalnow.ca/
index.php/editorial-calendar. I would love to hear your ideas!
I hope that your summer is off to a terrific start. Your July issue
of HR Professional will be out next month, where we’ll discuss
what HR departments should do when their organizations face
economic turmoil and uncertainty.
Happy reading,
Jill Harris
